In 1952 the Hogeterp family came from Smeek, Friesland, with eleven children. Shown in front of the airplane that carried them to Canada are, from right: father Hendrik, mother Pietertje, Roelof, Hendrik, Minke, Thijs, Geesje, Gerrit, Wiebigje, Grietje, Aaltje, Jacob, and Sake.
